University Overview
LSBU is a cosmopolitan university with over 18,000 students drawn from over 130 countries, located minutes from the centre of London. The university have been awarded Silver for teaching excellence under the Government's Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) and University of the Year for Graduate Employment for the second year in a row.
LSBU has been preparing and developing students for their working lives for over 125 years and over the past five years the university has invested over £60m in modern teaching facilities that support and develop students throughout their studies.
Sitting on the border of London’s Zones 1 and 2 for public transport, LSBU is just minutes from the entertainment buzz of bars, restaurants and clubs, plus many of the city's world-renowned galleries, theatres, museums and attractions.
LSBU has four halls of residence right in the heart of central London, giving students a perfectly-located yet safe and comfortable base. All of our halls are within a 10-minute walk of our Southwark campus. International students attending the University for the first time are guaranteed accommodation if they meet the allocation criteria and apply to our Accommodation Office by 1 August.

International Students
International students play a key part in life at LSBU, with over 2000 students from over 130 countries enrolled on courses at the University. This mix of students creates a rich culture of diversity on campus that is reflected in their staff as well as in the many collaborations that LSBU have with institutions around the world. London South Bank University provides a comprehensive pre-arrival support for its international students, including an airport collection for international students from Heathrow Airport. The University also holds international orientation event at the start of term to make students feel as welcome as possible. LSBU offer a wide range of scholarships and discounts for international students including Nationality Scholarships, fee-discounts for LSBU alumni, plus a 5% discount for early payment of Tuition Fees.
